BV treatment - how we can help you
This service is only for women already know that they have BV (bacterial vaginosis) or women who've had BV before and
recognise the BV symptoms. This service is confidential and lets you get the BV treatment you need without leaving home. No
fuss, no embarrassment.
BV treatment - how the service works
Register online and fill in the questionnaire. If it's safe to do so, one of our doctors will then send you the BV
treatment. We'll normally dispatch your BV treatment next working day. You'll need to sign for it when it arrives. We'll give
you a full refund if we think it's not safe to send you treatment.
BV treatment - how to take it
This BV medication comes as one tablet that you take twice a day for seven days. If you take the medication as
instructed then the treatment is very effective.
BV treatment - alternative treatment options
We also offer a single-dose BV treatment that you take on just one day. Both BV treatment options tend to be effective
if taken properly.
BV treatment - potential side-effects
Like any medication, this antibiotic can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or an allergic rash. In addition this BV
treatment can (rarely) cause liver damage or blood clotting disorders. This treatment reactes very badly with achohol. DO NOT
DRINK ALCOHOL from the day before you start to the day after you finish this medication. This treatment may also effect the
efficacy of hormonal contraception.
BV treatment - unsuitable patients
You shouldn't request this treatment if you're allergic to metronidazole, pregnant, breast-feeding or suffering from
liver or kidney disease.
